Applications are now open for Myth Detector Lab 2026, a Media and Information Literacy (MIL) program organized by Myth Detector and DW Akademie. Selected participants will take part in an intensive 3.5-month course combining online workshops, practical assignments, and a remote internship component with Myth Detector. The program will conclude with a media content competition, an award ceremony at the DW Office in Germany, and a study visit to Deutsche Welle’s broadcasting operations and television studios.
Details
Participants will develop practical skills in:
- Fact-checking and verification using open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools and techniques;
- Using AI tools for fact-checking and identifying AI-driven misinformation and manipulative narratives;
- Researching the new media ecosystem and disinformation trends;
- Identifying and analyzing Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior (CIB);
- Producing multimedia content on disinformation and propaganda;
- Preparing and publishing articles on Myth Detector’s fact-checking platform as part of the internship component;
- Applying broader Media and Information Literacy (MIL) approaches in practice.
Requirements
- Participants must be from Armenia;
- The program is open to young people aged 18-30
- Participants must have a good command of English.
